Most pet grooming establishments are employed largely by those without formal training. As is the case with most pet store chains, regular employees are "trained" by those with more experience, or are simply self-taught. Usually an employee is assigned to the grooming department, starts out bathing and cutting nails, and eventually practices on easy shave-jobs and learns by trial and error. While this approach to grooming is in most cases adequate, it often leads to a mediocre cut and overall unimpressive end result.

Amanda was trained at Maser's Academy of Fine Grooming and has over 8 years of grooming experience with all breeds, both common and exotic -- and not just exotic dogs, either! Cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, and even miniature horses! Dogs and cats aren't the only furry animals that need the occasional scrub and fluff! If it has hair, giver her a call and see what she can do! You will NOT be disappointed!

The Paw Spa uses only all natural, hypo-alergenic shampoos and conditioners. We require all animals to be current on vaccinations to prevent the spread of communicable diseases. We also request that anyone bringing in an animal with fleas or other parasites IMMEDIATELY notify an employee so the animal can be bathed and treated as soon as possible to prevent the contamination of other animals. We are proud to be a FLEA-FREE FACILITY. We have no carpeting or other such media suitable to foster flea eggs, and we strive to keep the store as clean and sanitary as possible.

The Paw Spa, LLC first opened it's doors on April 3, 2006 after years of dreaming and planning, months of preperation and searching for a suitable location, and a whole lot of blood and sweat (and money!).

At the end of our first year we had long since outgrown our first location. As luck would have it, the building we had initially wanted became available again. We jumped on the opportunity for a new, nicer and much bigger location. We are still in the process of remodeling, but the lobby and grooming rooms are finally more or less complete. We are currently working to get the daycare room finished and functional. The Paw Spa's Daycare service will offer a homey atmosphere where humans are the guests and dogs have first choice for spots on the couch where they can lounge around and watch The Dog Whisperer, socialize with their friends and play with all the toys.

Amanda is what some might refer to as "one of those people" whose entire life revolves around animals. When she's not grooming dogs, she divides her time between playing with them at home, watching The Dog Whisperer and everything else on Animal Planet, and tending to her zoo -- a whole room dedicated to the animals, which include 2 Ferrets, a Rabbit, 9 Sugar Gliders, 2 Bearded Dragons, 3 Leopard Geckos, a Green Iguana, 2 Algerian Uromastyx, 2 Corn Snakes, and the newest addition; a hatchling Red Tegu. And of course, not to be excluded, is our beloved Chinese Crested, Zero. SO, it's rather obvious why Amanda does what she does for a living -- any other line of work just wouldn't allow for adequate "animal exposure" to get her through the day!
